The following students completed their program requirements to graduate with a certificate (CT), associate of applied science (AAS), associate of arts in teaching (AAT), associate of science (AS) or associate of arts (AA) degree from Wor-Wic Community College this past fall and spring.
For several years, Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, in partnership with Sentinel Robotic Solutions, has offered “UAS (Drone) FAA Remote Pilot Cert Prep,” a course that trains participants to fly uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), or drones, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the field of UAS and preparing them to take a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) remote pilot certification exam.
Wor-Wic Community College will host the Shatter the Stigma Walk at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road. The free event is in partnership with Walk Wicomico and Wicomico Goes Purple, a countywide effort to promote substance misuse prevention, treatment and recovery. The event will also offer addiction resource information and Narcan training.
The public is invited to attend a free reading by poet Elizabeth Knapp on Monday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m., in room 302 of the Hazel Center at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Meredith Myrer of Salisbury was a dental assistant for several years after taking courses at Wor-Wic Community College. “I loved working with patients and seeing them smile,” she said. After having a baby, she decided that furthering her education would be a good next step. “I had a dental patient who was an occupational therapy assistant, and that always stuck out in my head,” she said.
