Salisbury VFW donation honors Howard at Wor-Wic

Wor-Wic Community College recently renamed its veterans lounge in honor of Fred Howard, retired director of veterans services. Howard retired in 2022 after 16 years of service to Wor-Wic’s students, and during his tenure was instrumental in bringing about the creation of the veterans lounge through the U.S. Department of Education’s Veterans Upward Bound grant.

Wor-Wic Community College has offered a program in welding for years to serve the needs of the Lower Eastern Shore’s workforce. Wor-Wic Community College is currently accepting registrations for credit classes that are being offered this summer and fall. Early registration is encouraged for the best selection of classes. The first summer session begins on Monday, May 15, the second summer session begins Tuesday, May 30, and fall classes begin Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The on-campus child development center at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury is accepting registrations now through May 29 for Camp Jordan, a summer day camp program for children from 5 to 8 years old that runs from June 19 through Aug. 11.
