Learning to drive is essential to getting and keeping a job on the Lower Eastern Shore. Tuition assistance is available to eligible Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset county residents who plan on enrolling in the 36-hour training course. The Able to Work Eastern Shore Fund is accepting applications for 2025 up to the amount of $3,000. The intent of this fund is to improve the employment and educational outcomes for people with disabilities with a priority on youth transitioning from school to post-secondary education/training and/or career. The funds may be granted to any qualified government entity, including school systems, and/or 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations for a qualified individual(s) residing in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot and Dorchester counties in Maryland; Sussex County, DE; and Accomack and Northampton counties in Virgina. The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Scholarship provides funding for members and family members of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce for education at a certified college, professional, technical, vocational or business school that will enhance the recipient’s ability to positively impact the Delmarva business community.
