Phlebotomy technicians draw blood from patients in a safe and sanitary manner. Career prospects for phlebotomists are very high, and you can be trained and ready to complete your American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians exam.

You will learn how to draw blood and collect biological specimens for tests, match laboratory forms to specimen tubes, draw blood from veins and capillaries, dispose of medical waste and clean medical instruments and equipment for use.

There are several requirements for those interested in registering for phlebotomy technician courses, including a drug screen, background check, medical clearance, placement testing and attending an information session.

If you want to start a career as a Phlebotomy Technician, you need to finish all the steps quickly.

Wait for an email. After your application is accepted, you’ll get some emails welcoming you to the college. It may take a few days to receive these emails.
Read the emails carefully. These emails will tell you what to do next to join the Phlebotomy Technician program, such as:
- Take a career assessment (this is required).
- Make an appointment with an enrollment coach (this is required).
- At your appointment: The coach will tell you if you need to take a reading or math test.

Don’t forget! There are two more steps that you also need to finish if
you haven’t yet completed them, Step 2: Apply to the Phlebotomy Technician Course and Step 3: Attend a Phlebotomy Technician Information Session.

You must attend a Phlebotomy Technician Information Session before joining the program.

In this session, you will:

Learn what a Phlebotomy Technician does at work.
Find out what you need to do in class.
Hear about ways to get help paying for the course.
Decide if becoming a Phlebotomy Technician is the right job for you.

The session is online using Zoom.
Click the Zoom link below about 5 minutes before the session starts. The teacher
will let you into the meeting.
