If you’re a little older and have children, starting college is a huge adjustment. You’re juggling work, family commitments, financial pressure and working toward your degree or certificate all at once. Whew! Wor-Wic knows it’s not easy, but it can be done and we’re here to help.
Our Adult Learners Program provides financial assistance and academic support to students selected for the program. The goal is to provide you the support you need in both your personal and academic lives to help bring you across the finish line to successful completion of your degree or certificate. Weekly financial assistance can include:
In addition, you’ll get one-on-one support from our Academic Advising Center twice a semester and opportunities to attend workshops that will help you succeed.
Please note that there are limits to how we can help. We provide additional support by connecting you with other sources of assistance throughout the college.
To be eligible for the Adult Learners Program you must:
The Offices of Financial Aid and Student Development work together to process applications for the Adult Learners Program. Only a limited number of applications are accepted each semester, so application does not guarantee program acceptance.
Once an application is received, it will be evaluated by the Offices of Financial Aid and Student Development to determine if there is other assistance that can be provided. If a student is eligible for the program, funds will be awarded through the business office in the form of direct payment to a third party (e.g., to a child care provider) or in the form of a gift card.
Students accepted into the program must be willing to participate in promotional events for the college and must be willing to have their name and image shared publicly.
If you have questions or concerns about your application, please contact us at financialaid@worwic.edu.
The 2022-23 Adult Learners Application will be available in July. Please watch your student email for an announcement.
