The health care pathway at Wor-Wic Community College is full of opportunities to begin or advance a career that helps people or animals live long, healthy lives. Health care programs and courses can involve both classroom and clinical training, and some have selective admissions processes. There are both short-term opportunities to begin work in a health care career very quickly, and long-term certificate and degree options which take several semesters to complete.
Attention to detail, a caring personality and a love of science/discovery are important qualities in those who are successful in health care careers.

Careers in the health care industry are in high demand as the population ages and workers retire due to the strain on health care during the pandemic. As a retirement area, the population of seniors will continue to grow on Delmarva, and this should result in more health care opportunities.

Students in our health care pathway have many opportunities to be involved in campus life outside of their academic work. Several of the allied health programs have student clubs including the Nursing Student Organization, the Occupational Therapy Assistant Club and the Physical Therapist Assistant Student Organization.
