Wor-Wic Community College recently welcomed Mark Miciotto of Fruitland as a CDL instructor in the continuing education and workforce development division.
The continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College is offering a certificate in nonprofit management that consists of four courses that will be held in Fulton-Owen Hall at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Angela Brittingham of Salisbury said she chose to become a nurse because she wanted a stable career that would allow her to support herself and her son. “I chose Wor-Wic for many different reasons,” she said. “It was close to home, it was affordable and most important of all, I had heard great things about the program — from both nurses who had been through it and employers of nurses. The program has a reputation for being challenging, but also for preparing its graduates well to start their careers.”
Wor-Wic Community College recently welcomed Dr. William J. Bails of Salisbury as department head and associate professor of the physical therapist assistant program.
Wor-Wic Community College has restructured its occupational division of credit education to allow for future growth.
Evan Avnet of Salisbury graduated from Wor-Wic’s Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy in 2004, while working for the Salisbury Police Department. After a few years, he moved on to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and returned to Wor-Wic to earn his associate of applied science degree in law enforcement, with honors, in 2010.
Several new credit programs were recently approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission to be offered this fall at Wor-Wic Community College.
A total of 452 Wor-Wic Community College students have been recognized for superior performance by being named to the dean’s list for the recently-completed spring term.
Wor-Wic Community College is offering “Smart Start Express Registration” on Wednesday, July 31, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
