Wor-Wic Employees Receive Service Awards
Wor-Wic Community College recently received an Award for Energy Stewardship from Energy Education, a national company that develops customized behavior-based energy conservation programs, for implementing a new energy management process that resulted in a reduction of the college’s energy usage and costs.
The continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College is offering a free computer information session on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in Room 103A of the Workforce Development Center at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Area residents have until Friday, Sept. 16, to register for the American College Testing (ACT) examination, which is being offered by Wor-Wic Community College on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 a.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Del. Norman H. Conway, D-38B, and other state and local dignitaries joined Wor-Wic Community College board members, employees, students, alumni and friends for a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the college’s new Allied Health Building (AHB) at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Registrations are still being accepted for credit classes that are being offered this fall at Wor-Wic Community College.
James Staley of Salisbury, a general studies major at Wor-Wic Community College, was recently elected as Maryland state president for the PTK Middle States Region at the PTK Officer Academy and Honors Institute held in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
The public is invited to performances of “Nunset Boulevard – The Nunsense Hollywood Bowl Show” in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College, to benefit Relay for Life. Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26 and 27, at 8 p.m.
The public is invited to the grand opening of the Allied Health Building (AHB) on the Wor-Wic Community College campus on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 10:30 a.m.
Broadway director and choreographer John Carrafa will conduct a free musical theater workshop on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Room 101 of Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.
