Wor-Wic receives EARN Maryland Cybersecurity grant
Wor-Wic Community College has been awarded a $150,000 cybersecurity grant from EARN Maryland, a program by the Maryland Department of Labor. It is the only organization that has been awarded this type of grant for cybersecurity, as well as the first on the Eastern Shore.

Scholarships ease the path from Wor-Wic to UMES

Wor-Wic 5K Hero Run to be held Oct. 5
The Wor-Wic Community College Foundation is sponsoring a 5K Hero Run or 2-mile walk, along with the 2024 First Responder Team Cup Challenge, on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 9 a.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury. Check-in and registration begin at 8 a.m.
Wor-Wic announces presidential inauguration date
Wor-Wic Community College will hold an inauguration ceremony for its third president, Deborah Casey, Ph.D., at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury on Friday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. The public is invited to join the celebration, which will feature local and national speakers, community performances, community service activities and a formal investiture.
Wor-Wic’s spring dean’s list announced
A total of 380 Wor-Wic Community College students have been recognized for superior performance by being named to the dean’s list for the recently completed spring term.

Wor-Wic earns National Science Foundation grant
Wor-Wic Community College has received a $350,000 Advanced Technological Education (ATE) grant from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. government’s independent science agency.
Law enforcement class graduates
Thirty-nine law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot and Caroline counties graduated in the 92nd entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
