Wor-Wic offers new Korean class
Wor-Wic Community College is offering a new non-credit class, “Korean Language and Culture Through Hangeul,” through its continuing education and workforce development division.
Green to speak at Wor-Wic

Grant enhances campus safety
Wor-Wic Community College recently received a grant of $262,500 from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) through its Campus Safety Program.
Financial aid forms available
Wor-Wic Community College is encouraging all students to fill out financial aid forms to help them pursue their education. The 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens the door for federal, state and school financial aid programs including grants, scholarships, work-study funds and loans.
Hutmaker is new VP at Wor-Wic
Dr. Michael Hutmaker, dean of student affairs at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, was recently selected to fill the position of vice president of student affairs at Wor-Wic Community College.
Law enforcement class graduates
Twenty-six law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Talbot, Caroline and Queen Anne’s counties graduated in the 93rd entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Jail and correctional officers graduate
Thirty-six jail and correctional officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Caroline and Talbot counties graduated in the 119th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.
Wor-Wic honors outstanding employees
Wor-Wic Community College recently honored four employees with Excellence in Service Awards. The awards recognized those who have gone above and beyond to support students and the college’s mission, foster a sense of camaraderie and positivity, contribute innovative ideas and play an active role in Wor-Wic’s success.
Wor-Wic receives $5.7 million grant for disability services
Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Md., is the only community college recipient of a competitive U.S. Department of Education grant that will provide $5.7 million over five years as part of the Disability Innovation Fund program. It is the largest grant Wor-Wic has received.
Computer studies info night scheduled for Dec. 9
Wor-Wic Community College is offering a free computer studies information night for anyone interested in learning more about degree, transfer and career opportunities in the computer field. The event will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m., in Room 200 of the Maner Technology Center at the college campus at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road.
