Dr. Bryan Newton, vice president for enrollment management and student services at Wor-Wic Community College, earned the Leader of the Year Award for 2023 from Shore Leadership, presented by Dr. Deirdra G. Johnson, dean of enrollment management and student services.

Shore Leadership, a leadership development program for executives and senior managers on the Eastern Shore, recently honored two employees of Wor-Wic Community College. Dr. Ray Hoy, a co-founder of Shore Leadership and president of Wor-Wic, received the 2023 Founders Award. Dr. Bryan Newton, vice president for enrollment management and student services at Wor-Wic, earned the Leader of the Year Award for 2023.

Since 1997, the Shore Leadership program has been working to facilitate positive change and enhance the quality of life on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It aims to foster shared ownership and a regional approach to regional issues through the development of a broad base of leaders and a network of private-public partnerships.

Shore Leadership participants develop an in-depth understanding of the complexities of the region through discussions with community leaders and experts from organizations and institutions that shape the region’s structure and culture.
