Free poetry reading to be held Oct. 4

The public is invited to attend a free “Echoes & Visions” reading and reception on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m., in Room 302 of the Hazel Center at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Guest poet Anne Colwell will read alongside students whose works are published in the 31st annual edition of “Echoes & Visions.”

Colwell writes poetry, fiction and nonfiction. She has published two books of poems, “Believing Their Shadows” and “Mother’s Maiden Name.” She received both emerging and established artist awards in fiction and poetry from the Delaware Division of the Arts. A chapbook of poems, “Father’s Occupation, Mother’s Maiden Name,” received the Dogfish Head Poetry Prize.
