Seventeen jail and correctional officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot and Caroline counties graduated in the 98th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.
Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall on the college campus, featured a commencement address by Carsten Wendlandt, an investigator in the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office.
John C. Moses, director of criminal justice, and Carl L. Crumbacker Sr., ESCJA coordinator, presided at the ceremony. Rebekah L. Clendaniel of the Ocean City Police Department was the class speaker.
In addition to Clendaniel, graduates included Wilna Cange, Peter A. DeSipio, Carmelo Guerrero De La Cruz and Tyron M. Sims from the Wicomico County Department of Corrections, Aaron D. Johnson and Alisha M. Morton of the Worcester County Jail and Detention Center, David C. Tyler of the Somerset County Detention Center, Desiree A. Allen, Sharonda L. Dickerson, Daric K. Evans and Fanty E. Hastings of the Eastern Correctional Institution, Tremain B. Fletcher and Andrea S. Taylor-Moaney of the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, Roseanne J. Royer and Tia W. Slaughter of the Talbot County Department of Corrections and Adam R. Brock of the Caroline County Department of Corrections.
