Twenty-five law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Talbot, Queen Anne’s and Kent counties graduated in the 76th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis.
John C. Moses, director of criminal justice at Wor-Wic, and Donald L. Rollyson Jr., assistant director of the ESCJA, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by agency representatives along with William McMahon, acting executive director of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md. Deputy Anna M. Bowie of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by McMahon.
In addition to Bowie, graduates included Jonathan C. Adams, Christopher A. Denny Jr., Tyler F. Gillespie, Antonio A. Gutierrez II, William L. Parker III, Nathan J. Schrlau and Candice T. Smith of the Salisbury Police Department, Marc V. Douglas and Brandon R. Scott of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department, Nathan A. Denny of the Ocean City Police Department, Patrick G. Hogan of the Ocean Pines Police Department, Cornell E. Stanley of the Eastern Shore Hospital Center, Anthony R. Cullings and Zachary C. Howard of the Hurlock Police Department, Ronald W. Allen Jr., Logan R. LeCompte, Bryant D. Simmons and Kason L. Washington of the Cambridge Police Department, Benjamin S. Schorr of the Easton Police Department, Jason A. Burr and Caitlin M. Smith of the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, Jordan M. Jarrett of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Department, and David W. Nolan and Thomas A. Patchett of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
