History alive presentation to be held Oct. 6

Mary Ann Jung will provide an artistic representation of the history of aviation and women’s rights during a free performance called “Amelia Earhart: Dreams Take Flight” that will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m., in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

During the performance, Jung will portray Amelia Earhart, who was also a photographer, truck driver, avid student and teacher, volunteer nurse, social worker and clothing designer.

Jung, an award-winning actress and Smithsonian scholar, has portrayed many women of history in her interactive shows. She researches and writes her own scripts, and performs in the authentic costumes, accents and attitudes for her characters’ eras.

This event is sponsored by Wor-Wic’s honors program and arts club.

Contact Melissa Reddish, instructor of English and director of the honors program, at mreddish@worwic.edufor more information.
