Thirteen law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Talbot and Queen Anne’s counties graduated in the 70th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Sheriff Gary Hoffman of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office.
John C. Moses, director of criminal justice at Wor-Wic, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by Michael Jackson, program manager of the leadership development institute of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md., and various agency representatives. William B. Mills of the Salisbury Police Department was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Jackson.
In addition to Mills, graduates included Isiah P. Barkley, Patrick J. Glynn and Scott D. Horengic of the Salisbury Police Department, Adam J. Lapinski, Joseph D. Laughlin, Xeniya A. Patterson and Matthew T. Zimmerman of the Ocean City Police Department, Steve M. Mills Jr. of the Dorchester County Detention Center, Ryan M. McCormick and Joseph M. Schinault of the Easton Police Department, and Rudy L. Draper III and Andrew R. Neall of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Department.
