Thirty-two jail and correctional officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Caroline counties graduated in the 86th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall on the college campus, featured a commencement address by John C. Moses, director of criminal justice at Wor-Wic.

Donald Rollyson Jr., assistant director of the ESCJA, presided at the ceremony. Awards of excellence were presented by agency representatives.

Graduates included Gary R. Farrell Jr., Douglas H. Hampshire Jr., Ebony D. Johnson, Benjamin G. Parks III, Martez D. Purnell, Jordan H. Richardson, Arthur L. Somers and LeFerrell VanDiver Jr. of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections, Nathan H. Bratten, Troy L. Murph, Travis C. Shockley and Jason M. Smith of the Worcester County Jail and Detention Center, Michael J. Adams, William B. Barnette, Bruce A. Brackins, Antwon L. Carter, Nathan L. Duffy, Chase A. Dykes, Dawn L. Fisher, Stephen G. Frey Jr., Ross L. Hammer, Joseph L. Hill, Xavier R. Holden, Derrick B. Houston, Lori A. Maddox, Jeffrey A. Malcom Sr., Tiffer A. Miller and Larry J. Thornes of the Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI), Michael D. Hooks and Dana L. Thornton of Maryland Correctional Enterprises (MCE) at ECI, and Mark S. Lasocha and Karla S. Perez of the Caroline County Jail and Detention Center.
