Fifty-six Wor-Wic Community College students were inducted into the Alpha Nu Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa during a ceremony held recently at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

The new chapter members include Catherine Bliss, Jewlett Brown, Terrance Butler, Linda Cook, Mark Culver, Jennifer Dixon, Joshua Engle, Heather Guy, Emily Hasenkopf, Emily Hitchcock, Na Kang, Veronica Martinez-Vargas, Erica McKnight, Heather Milligan, Tori Nichols, Hannah Phillips-Dennis, Jonathan Powell, Laura Sekul, Jamye Solano, Deane Townsend and Kathy Turner of Salisbury, Rha-Shid Nutter of Bivalve, Keith Schilling of Delmar, Md., Amberleigh Geremia, Dawn Hayashi and Amanda Smith of Eden, Lindsay James of Fruitland, Amelia Handy of Hebron, Liliya Flores of Pittsville, Amy Barron of Quantico, Katelynn Bowden of Sharptown, Kerstin Jenkins of Tyaskin, Mardelle Davis and Heidi Whittington of Willards, Michelle DeMarco, Nathan Gillin, Maria Kimball, Majdi Labwam, Mark Peterson and Candice Timmons of Berlin, Jami Shartzer of Bishopville, Channel Chaplin, Cathleen Germann, Mary Jordan and Jennie Rodriguez of Ocean City, Logan Becker, Lacy Hudson and Melinda Webster of Pocomoke City, Colby Gebhardt and Mary-Ellan Pruitt of Snow Hill, Frances Thornton of Stockton, Patrick Tawes of Crisfield, Teressa Dowden and Tamalin Truitt of Marion Station, Betty Collier of Princess Anne and Ashley Nelson of Westover.

Advisors of the chapter include Dr. Lynn M. Derickson, associate professor of nursing, Dr. Denise D. Marshall, department head and professor of nursing, Terry Thompson, associate professor of biological science, Jennifer L. Tusing, assistant professor of Spanish, and Dr. Coleen M. Weil, associate professor of nursing.

Phi Theta Kappa is a nationally-recognized honor society serving America’s two-year colleges. The Alpha Nu Omicron chapter was chartered at Wor-Wic in September of 1987.
