Human Resources Courses Begin in January

Human resources personnel can benefit from taking courses that are being offered this winter by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Learn more about strategic management, employee and labor relations, workforce planning and employment, total rewards and risk management in order to prepare for human resources professional exams by taking “Professional in Human Resources/Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) Exam Preparation,” which is being offered on Wednesdays, Jan. 25 through April 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. The PHR exam is recommended for human resources professionals with two to four years of exempt-level generalist work experience, and the SPHR exam is recommended for professionals with six to eight years of progressive experience.

Anyone involved in human resource management can learn techniques for effectively handling daily human resource and people management challenges by taking “Essentials of Human Resource Management,” which is being offered on Tuesdays, Jan. 31 through Feb. 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. PHRs, SPHRs and global professionals in human resources (GPHRs) can earn up to 15 recertification hours upon successful completion of this course if qualified. This course covers employment law, selecting qualified employees, compensation, orientation and training, and the performance management process.
