Adobe Courses Offered this Spring

Anyone interested in learning more about using Adobe software products for digital imaging, video editing and desktop publishing can benefit by taking courses being offered this spring by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

“Adobe Illustrator: Introduction” is being offered on Mondays, April 9-30, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. This course covers how to combine text and graphics to create advertisements and fliers, design illustrations and special type effects, and prepare print documents or artwork for use on the Web. This course satisfies one of the core requirements for the continuing education certificate in computer graphics and desktop publishing.

Learn how to create and edit a short video, add transitions and video effects, and use storyboarding, clip placement and time remapping, by taking “Digital Video Editing Using Adobe Premier Pro,” which is a new course being offered on Tuesdays, April 17 through May 8, from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. This course also covers how to incorporate other Adobe applications such as Photoshop and After Effects when editing video.

“Adobe Photoshop: Level I” is being offered on Wednesdays, April 25 through May 23, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. This course covers how to modify, manipulate and transform selections to create desired effects, how to work with text, layers and layer effects, and how to prepare images for both the Web and print. This course satisfies a core requirement for the continuing education certificate in computer graphics and desktop publishing.

Learn how to edit red eye and skin imperfections, improve the sky and background of images and explore layers by taking “Adobe Photoshop Elements for the Digital Photographer,” which is being offered on Thursdays, April 26 through May 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. This course also covers the software’s organizing and sharing capabilities.
