The public is invited to attend literary readings by husband and wife Michael Hemery and Stacie Leatherman on Thursday, March 31, at 7 p.m., in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Hemery’s book, “No Permanent Scars,” was recently published by Silenced Press. Individual essays from this collection have appeared in “Drunken Boat,” “Los Angeles Review,” “Lumina,” “New Plains Review,” “Passages North,” “The Portland Review,” “Post Road Magazine,” “Redivider,” and the book “Fearless Confessions: A Writer’s Guide to Memoir.” He teaches English at North Royalton High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and is the nonfiction editor of “Hunger Mountain.”

Stacie Leatherman

Leatherman’s first book, “Stranger Air,” will be published this spring and her second book, “Storm Crop,” is scheduled to be published in late 2011. Her work has appeared in “New American Writing,” “Interim,” “Indiana Review,” “Cricket Review Online,” “Barrow Street,” “Caketrain,” “Diagram,” “Crazyhorse,” “Packingtown Review,” “The Florida Review,” “Many Mountains Moving” and “The Southeast Review.”

Hemery and Leatherman received their master’s degrees in fine arts from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier, Vt.

A book signing and refreshments will follow the event, which is part of the college’s Echoes and Visions reading series sponsored by the arts club at Wor-Wic.
