NICOLL SCHOLARSHIP.

Family members of the late Virginia Holland Nicoll, R.N., established an endowed scholarship in her memory with a $10,000 contribution to Wor-Wic Community College. Income from the endowment will be used for annual scholarships for nursing students from Worcester, Wicomico or Somerset County who are planning to work in the area. Born in Whaleyville, Mrs. Nicoll was raised in Berlin. She enjoyed a successful 38-year career in nursing, serving for many years as director of nursing of the Wicomico County Health Department. Dr. Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic, left, accepted the check from Nicoll family members, shown from left next to Hoy: Fred and JoAnn Nicoll of Ocean City, Scott Nicoll of Salisbury, son of Don and Nancy Nicoll of Manchester, Tenn., Stacy Nicoll, Scott’s wife, who received her associate degree in nursing from Wor-Wic in 2008, and their children, Payton, 12, and Max, 13.
