New Turf Management Articulation

The Institute of Applied Agriculture (IAA), which is part of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland College Park, recently announced that it will accept 20 transfer credits from the certificate of proficiency program in turf management offered by Wor-Wic Community College.

The IAA offers a 60-credit certificate program that provides students with entrepreneurial and technical skills to manage golf courses, boarding stables, sports fields, landscape companies and farm operations.

Wor-Wic’s turf management classes are taught at the campus in Salisbury and at Wor-Wic’s Ocean Resorts Golf Club in Berlin. The golf course is used as a turf management laboratory for students enrolled in the program.

Anyone interested in enrolling in this program should call Donald C. Nicholson, technology department head and associate professor of manufacturing, at (410) 334-2871.
