Sixteen law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot and Kent counties graduated in the 64th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Acting Chief Ivan E. Barkley of the Salisbury Police Department.
James M. Beatty Sr., Wor-Wic’s director of criminal justice, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by Charles W. Rapp, executive director of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md., and various agency representatives. Timothy C. Robinson of the Salisbury Police Department was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Rapp.
In addition to Robinson, graduates included Brandon L. Caton, Jacob L. Chambers, Matthew D. Conner, Jason C. Lewis, Brendan R. Rogalski, Jason R. Sander and James J. Smith III of the Salisbury Police Department, James Kerr of the Fruitland Police Department, Justin R. Hoban of the Ocean City Police Department, Stephen J. Gulyas III of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Kara L. Meeks of the Princess Anne Police Department, Jarnell P. Foster of the Cambridge Police Department, Charles B. Dayton of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Christopher W. Adelsberger of the Easton Police Department and Michael J. Boehmer of the Chestertown Police Department.
