COTTON CLUB JAVA.
Cotton Club Java, a free African-American history month celebration, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m., in Room 302 of the Student Center at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
The free event will include literary readings by students, as well as a keynote poetry reading by Reginald Harris, author of “10 Tongues.”
Harris, a help desk and training manager at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, is a recipient of Individual Artist awards for poetry and fiction from the Maryland State Arts Council. He was a Pushcart Prize nominee and his book, “10 Tongues,” was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award and ForeWord Book of the Year. His poetry, fiction, reviews and articles have appeared in numerous journals and Web sites.
The event is sponsored by Wor-Wic’s cultural diversity committee.
