The two driving forces in my life are building and exploring. I love designing, creating, and building anything from birthday cakes to home renovations to rockets to small boats. I love exploring; learning about places first hand, whether it’s mucking in the nearby marsh, sailing my sailboat in the sound, or navigating distant lands. I have traveled throughout America as well as Egypt, French Guiana, Bermuda, Barbados, Kenya, France, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, and Svalbard. I support the missions of 4Ocean, Sea Shepard, and Ubuntu Life. I am married with three daughters and two sons and we enjoy the beach, kayaking, boating, camping, and of course, building stuff. In my “free time” I read adventure novels and history books, write about my adventures, make my own wine, and designs and builds boats.
Why do I teach? My goal is to make things better; constantly improving anything that can be improved and making the world a better place. I enjoy encouraging and motivating others to achieve goals previously thought impossible.
