The following students completed their program requirements to graduate with a certificate of proficiency (CT), associate of applied science (AAS), associate of arts in teaching (AAT), associate of science (AS) or associate of arts (AA) degree from Wor-Wic Community College this past summer.
Restaurant owners and/or managers can learn how to track revenue and expenses and find out how to set up accounts to begin controlling expenses and increasing profits by taking “QuickBooks for Restaurant Accounting,” a new course being offered by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College on Mondays, beginning Nov. 4, from 6:15 to 9 p.m., at Wor-Wic’s Ocean Resorts Golf Club on Cathell Road in Berlin.
Learn how to add social media to your marketing mix, create a budget and designate the resources and time to make your plan work, by taking “Integrating a Social Media Plan into Your Marketing Mix,” which is being offered by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College on Tuesdays, Oct. 22 and 29, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at Wor-Wic’s Ocean Resorts Golf Club on Cathell Road in Berlin.
Forty-six jail and correctional officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Caroline, Dorchester, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties graduated in the 88th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.
For the third year in a row, Wor-Wic Community College was named as one of the top Military Friendly Schools for 2014 by G.I. Jobs, a veteran-owned magazine designed for military personnel transitioning into civilian life.
Wor-Wic Community College recently welcomed Dr. Daniel Bernstein of Greensburg, Penn., as department head and associate professor of hotel-motel-restaurant management.
In recognition of national disability employment awareness month, a free performance called “Taking the ‘Dis’ Out of Disability” will be performed on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 7 to 8 p.m., in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
The Wor-Wic Community College Foundation recently held a 5K Run/Walk, along with the 2013 Law Enforcement Team Cup Challenge, at the college campus in Salisbury.
The board of trustees at Wor-Wic Community College recently awarded scholarships to 10 local high school graduates.
The public is invited to attend a free “Echoes and Visions” reading and reception on Friday, Oct. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m., in Room 302 of the Hazel Center at Wor-Wic Community College.
