Natalie Lutz of Hockessin, Del., is cheered as she crosses the finish line with a time of 19:15 to become the overall female winner of the 5K Hero Run hosted by the Wor-Wic Community College Foundation.

The Wor-Wic Community College Foundation recently held its annual 5K Hero Run and 2-mile walk, along with the 2023 First Responder Team Cup Challenge, at the college campus in Salisbury.

The Ocean City Police Department, with the team of Joshua Glaub and Timothy Chaykosky, won the First Responder Team Cup Challenge.

With a time of 17:44, the overall male winner of the 5K race portion of the event was Tyler Muse of Salisbury. The overall female winner was Natalie Lutz of Hockessin, Del., with a time of 19:15.

Participants ranged in age from 6 to 78.

Proceeds of $38,000 will benefit the students of Wor-Wic.
