In honor of African American history month, a celebration of Gwendolyn Brooks will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m., in Room 105 of Henson Hall at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.
Brooks was the first African American to win a Pulitzer Prize in poetry. Adam Tavel, professor of English, will present an overview of her life and career, including a few of her poems, and explain how her legacy is vital and relevant today.
