Fourteen law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Caroline, Kent and Allegany counties graduated in the 65th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Chief Barbara Duncan of the Salisbury Police Department.
James M. Beatty Sr., Wor-Wic’s director of criminal justice, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by Charles W. Rapp, executive director of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md., and various agency representatives. Amy E. Hoelscher of the Ocean City Police Department was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Rapp.
In addition to Hoelscher, graduates included Nicholas P. Amendolagine, Jonathan D. Coury, Seamus W. Lynch, Damien D. McGlotten and Adam D. Waller of the Salisbury Police Department, Richard A. Gutowski, Kory A. Moerschel and Christopher C. Wrench of the Ocean City Police Department, Bryan W. Rock of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Yuri T. Wallace of the Hurlock Police Department, Christopher A. Hall of the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department, Samuel E. Kinser of the Chestertown Police Department and Matthew B. Beeman of the Frostburg City Police Department.
