Real Estate Courses Offered in January

Developers, appraisers, bankers, brokers, property managers and real estate agents can benefit from taking real estate courses being offered in January by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Learn more about broker supervision and how it applies to conducting business within the confines of the laws and agency relationships by taking “MREC Required Supervision Course,” which is being offered on Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road. This course is required by the Maryland Real Estate Commission (MREC) for brokers, branch office managers and team leaders.

“Fair Housing for Real Estate Professionals” is being offered on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the college campus in Salisbury. This course will cover federal and Maryland fair housing laws, including Housing and Urban Development advertising guidelines, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. This course meets the MREC fair housing requirement.

Learn how to deal with ethical dilemmas, including illegal flipping of properties and predatory lending, by taking “Ethics in Real Estate,” which is being offered on Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the college campus. This course meets the MREC ethics requirement.

“MREC Agency – Residential” is being offered on Friday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the college’s Ocean Resorts Golf Club in Berlin. This course, which meets the MREC agency requirement, will cover current Maryland laws relating to agency issues, including how to use adequate controls and guidance in order to conduct business within the confines of the laws and agency relationships.
