Lead Paint Training Offered at Wor-Wic

Lead paint training is being offered by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College this summer at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Learn how to perform lead paint inspections to verify satisfactory completion of work required in rental properties under the Maryland Lead Risk Reduction Standard, complete associated inspection reports and protocols, and qualify to become a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sampling technician, by taking “Lead Paint Visual Inspector Training,” which is being offered on Monday and Tuesday, June 25 and 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Lead Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting” is being offered on Friday, June 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This course will cover how to prevent the risk of lead poisoning during renovation activities like sanding, cutting and demolition according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules.

Gain a better understanding of Maryland regulations, how to protect against exposure to lead, techniques for safely working around lead-based paint and clean-up procedures by taking “Lead Paint Maintenance and Repainting Supervisor Training,” which is being offered on Monday and Tuesday, July 9 and 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
