Eighteen law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Garrett counties graduated in the 68th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Chief David C. Massey of the Ocean Pines Police Department.

John C. Moses, director of criminal justice at Wor-Wic, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by Charles L. Lewis Jr., law enforcement program coordinator and instructor of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md., and various agency representatives. Sean M. Maloney of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Lewis.

In addition to Maloney, graduates included Ryan H. Brittingham, Zachary C. Converse and Wayne A. Robbins of the Salisbury Police Department, Michael W. Dzurnak, Corey M. Gemerek, Clifford J. Goggins, Nathan P. Kutz, Daniel F. McBride and Michael D. Valerio of the Ocean City Police Department, Christopher A. Tarr of the Ocean Pines Police Department, Allison L. Herrman of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Nicholas K. Kienast of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Jared A. Royer of the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department, Joseph N. Watson of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, Nathaniel E. Burns and Chad R. Hartmetz of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Department and Adam G. Rounds of the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.
