Fourteen law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot and Kent counties graduated in the 75th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Chief Daniel A. Dvorak of the Cambridge Police Department.
John C. Moses, director of criminal justice at Wor-Wic, and Donald L. Rollyson Jr., assistant director of the ESCJA, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by various agency representatives along with J. Michael Ziegler, executive director of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md. Christopher D. Westerfield of the Easton Police Department was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Ziegler.
In addition to Westerfield, graduates included Adeline L. Boyd, Joseph V. Doyle, James M. Hicks, Garrett D. Ross, Collin W. Shockley, Robert J. Smallwood, Brian M. Weglarz and Joshua L. Willey of the Salisbury Police Department, Lemuel H. White Jr. of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department, Brent L. Beck and Jason J. Drake of the Cambridge Police Department, Megan L. Newman of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and Scott W. Lockerman of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
