Free performance on Feb. 2

In celebration of African-American history month, the Hugh Gregory Gallagher Theater will perform stories about prominent African-American historical figures on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m., in Room 101 of Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury. The performances will highlight Frederick Douglass, a social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer and statesman; Bessie Coleman, the first female pilot of African-American descent in the U.S.; Neal Loving, a disabled pilot, aircraft designer, builder, engineer and educator; and George Flamer, who overcame being institutionalized due to cerebral palsy. This event is sponsored by Wor-Wic’s cultural diversity committee.
