Peninsula Regional’s CEO to address graduates

Dr. Peggy Naleppa will address the 2016 Wor-Wic Community College graduates at commencement on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m., at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury.

Naleppa is the president/CEO of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) and the Peninsula Regional Health System in Salisbury. She began her career as a director at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and has served as a senior executive at other hospitals in Maryland.

Naleppa is a registered nurse and holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph's College of Maine, a master’s degree from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC), a master of business administration from Johns Hopkins University and a doctorate from UMUC. She has an honorary doctorate in public service from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

The Daily Record honored Naleppa with the Most Admired CEOs award in 2012 and 2014, named her as a Most Influential Marylander in 2015, and inducted her into the Circle of Excellence in 2015 as a three-time recipient of its Maryland Top 100 Women award. In 2014, she was selected by the Becker’s Hospital Review as one of 130 women hospital and health system leaders to know. Locally, she has been honored as the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Woman of the Year and as a recipient of the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore’s James Barrett Community Leadership Award.

She is chairperson for the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) Council on Financial Policy and is also vice chair of the MHA Executive Governance Committee. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and was honored in 2014 with its Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award.
