The public is invited to attend a free “Echoes and Visions” reading and reception on Friday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m., in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.
Martha Rhodes, the author of five poetry collections, most recently “The Thin Wall,” will be the featured guest. She teaches at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, N.Y., and at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. Rhodes is the director of the annual summer Conference on Poetry at the Frost Place in Franconia, N.H., and is a founding editor and the director of Four Way Books in New York, N.Y.
Current and former Wor-Wic students whose work has been featured in the college’s creative arts journal, “Echoes and Visions,” will read selections of their work. The journal is published annually by the Wor-Wic arts club.
Information about the Elinor Cubbage Endowment Fund will also be presented.
A book signing and refreshments will follow the event, which is sponsored by the “Echoes & Visions” Editorial Board and the Student Government Association.
